I don’t remember the last time there were a ton of chick- led bands on the rock charts. It’s been since the 90’s since we had multiple bands breaking through. That was when you had bands like Hole, Veruca Salt, Alanis Morrisette, Garbage, The Cranberries and a lot more. Now with the new releases from Halestorm, Dorothy, In This Moment, The Pretty Wreckless, Flyleaf etc…. it’s an amazing time for females in rock! Don’t get me wrong, it’s still a boys club, but we recently saw 2 females in the top 10- Halestorm and Dorothy. If the new Halestorm single, “Uncomfortable” is any precurser to what the rest of the album, “Vicious” will be like, then we will be hearing a lot more from Lzzy Hale and company! This song is on it’s way to #1 on the Active Rock charts and is one of the most popular songs on Q. I can’t wait to see them play with In This Moment and New Years Day – all female- led bands on Dec. 4th at The Shrine Mosque. Get you tickets HERE and check out the video to Halestorm’s Uncomfortable!
