We had the incredible opportunity to see one of my all-time favorite bands, Bush, live at Downstream Casino. To say the night was unforgettable would be an understatement. Not only was it a chance to watch a band that profoundly shaped my love for music, but it was also a reunion with old friends.
Before the show, we caught up with the guys backstage. Sharing laughs and swapping stories reminded me of the personal connections that make moments like this so special. Despite their larger-than-life presence on stage, they remain grounded and genuine, which is just one of the many reasons I’ve admired them for years.
As showtime approached, the anticipation in the packed house was electric. The crowd roared as Bush took the stage, kicking things off with their iconic track, Everything Zen. Without missing a beat, they launched into Machinehead, sending the energy in the room through the roof. Fans of all ages were on their feet, singing along to every word.
The setlist was a dream come true for any Bush fan. From the hauntingly beautiful The Chemicals Between Us to the emotional resonance of The Sound of Winter, the band delivered hit after hit. A standout moment was their new a cappella rendition of Swallowed. It was raw, intimate, and something you truly had to experience in person to fully appreciate.
Just when we thought the night couldn’t get any better, the band returned for an encore that blew everyone away. They started with their latest chart-topping hit, More Than Machines, reminding us all that Bush’s relevance and creative fire remain as strong as ever. Then came Glycerine, a timeless ballad that had the entire crowd swaying in unison, and they wrapped up the night with the explosive energy of Comedown. The venue was alive with applause and cheers, a testament to the lasting impact of their music.
I’m beyond grateful to still have the chance to see a band that has meant so much to me over the years, and even more so to call these talented individuals my friends. Thank you to everyone who came out to pack the house and made the evening so special. A huge shoutout as well to the staff at Downstream Casino for their exceptional hospitality.
Here’s to many more nights of incredible music and unforgettable memories. Until next time, keep rocking!
