"Don't Be Afraid of the Dark"
Plot: A young girl inadvertently unleashes a race of ancient monsters while exploring her father's 19th Century mansion. Katie Holmes and Guy Pearce star.
"Fright Night"
Plot: A teenager realizes that the mysterious guy next door is actually a bloodthirsty vampire preying on the neighborhood. Colin Farrell stars.
Sorta campy ... but, at the same time I really liked it. NO NEED for 3-D though.
"Final Destination 5"
Plot: A group of co-workers narrowly escape a bridge disaster, only to be hunted down by Death itself, coming to collect its due.
WHY?? How many damn ways can you try and cheat death?!?!
"The Change-Up" Plot: Ryan Reynolds and Jason Bateman are friends whose worlds are turned upside down when they wake up in each other's bodies after making a wish near a magic fountain.
NOT in the HORRIBLE BOSSES & BRIDESMAIDS category of excellence - BUT - definitley better than BAD TEACHER & THE HANGOVER PART 2. On the crude side, but, that certainly doesn't bother me ... I always love Jason Bateman and Ryan Reynolds.
"Cowboys & Aliens"
Plot: A spaceship arrives in Arizona, 1873, to take over the Earth, starting with the Wild West region. A posse of cowboys are all that stand in their way. Danuiel Craig and Harrison Ford star.
Hey, even I don't care for Harrison Ford and I don't care for when Sci-Fi and Western meet ... I can appreciate a GOOD action film!
"Captain America: The First Avenger"
Plot: A scrawny volunteer enters an experimental program which turns him into a superhero. Chris Evans stars.
Excellent movie. Very well done story. Nice action and special effects. Makes THE AVENGERS pretty exciting for next Summer!
"Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2"
Plot: The final chapter begins as Harry, Ron, and Hermione continue their quest of finding and destroying the Dark Lord's three remaining Horcruxes.
Does it really matter what a critic thinks :-) ... Harry knows how to RAKE in the $$!
"Horrible Bosses"
Plot: Three friends devise a convoluted and seemingly foolproof plan to rid themselves of their respective intolerable bosses... permanently. The completely underrated Jason Bateman, Jason Sudeikis, & Charlie Day star as well as Jennifer Aniston, Jamie Foxx and Colin Farrell.
OMG ... amazingly hilarious! And, a super HOT and DIRTY Jennifer Anistion, brilliance :-)
"Transformers: Dark of the Moon"
Plot: The Autobots learn of a Cybertronian spacecraft hidden on the Moon, and race against the Decepticons to reach it and to learn its secrets. Shia LaBeouf returns. No Megan Fox this time ... now it's Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.
Excellent sequel. LOVE IT. Fantastic, intense action with a great story!! I didn't miss Megan Fox ONE bit.
"Bad Teacher"
Plot: A comedy centered around a foul-mouthed, junior high teacher who, after being dumped by her sugar daddy, begins to woo a colleague -- a move that pits her against a well-loved teacher. Cameron Diaz, Jason Segel and Justin Timberlake star.
I REALLY like this movie. Quick, smart, dirty, whitty. Cameron Diaz is way HOT. Justin Timberlake plays a guy who isn't necessarily that cool. And, Jason Segel is always pretty darn funny!
"Green Lantern"
Plot: A test pilot is granted a mystical green ring that bestows him with otherworldly powers, as well as membership into an intergalactic squadron tasked with keeping peace within the universe. Ryan Reynolds stars.
I like this movie. I think Ryan Reynolds brings the perfect amount of comedic timining and action to the role. I actually wanted more, I think it's too short!
"Super 8"
Plot: After witnessing a mysterious train crash, a group of friends in the summer of 1979 begin noticing strange happenings going around in their small town, and begin to investigate into the creepy phenomenon. Written and directed by J.J. Abrams.
Very WELL done movie. I like this one A LOT. Nice intrigue. And, cool there is NO major star taking up all the $$.
"X-Men First Class"
Plot: In 1963, Charles Xavier starts up a school and later a team, for humans with superhuman abilities. Among them is Erik Lensherr, his best friend... and future archenemy. James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, January Jones, Oliver Platt and Kevin Bacon are just a few of the stars.
YES!!!! Love this movie! Great story, well cast, and excellent special effects. Makes me want to watch the other X-MEN movies AGAIN.
"The Hangover Part II"
Plot: Right after the bachelor party in Las Vegas, Phil, Stu, Alan, and Doug jet to Thailand for Stu's wedding. Stu's plan for a subdued pre-wedding brunch, however, goes seriously awry.
So, MAJOR $$ maker. This sequel is a STRONG good. The original had an excellent element of mystery. Mr. Chow is JUST as excellent this time around!! Don't get me wrong ... this movie is definitely funny ... just not HILARIOUS!
"Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides"
Plot: Johnny Depp returns as Captain Jack Sparrow, who crosses paths with the fierce pirate Blackbeard and a woman from his past.
I miss Keira Knightley & Orlando Bloom ... but, Johnny Depp is always solid and the special effects too!
